The attorneys and staff of the Giron Kirby Law Group were happy and excited to participate in the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation’s (“HYLF”) annual Adopt-an-Angel program.  A deserving thank you goes out to firm attorneys Leslie Giron Kirby and Teressa Messer as well as firm paralegal Mariana Vasquez for donating toys and other items to local children in need of some cheer for the Holidays.  A special thank you goes out to Finn Kirby, the youngest member of the team, for helping to deliver the gifts.

The HYLF’s Adopt an Angel program is one of the organization’s touchstone events. It rallies the Houston legal community to meet the needs and provide gifts to some of Houston’s neediest children. Working with local elementary schools and charities, HYLA and HYLF coordinate the donation of gifts—bikes, toys, clothing, and school supplies—purchased by attorneys and employees at 65 Houston law firms and legal departments. HYLA and HYLF collect the gifts and deliver them to the schools and charities, even providing Santa Claus to hand out the gifts!  This year HYLF is partnering with Woodson Elementary, Belfort ECC Headstart, Casa de Esperanza, Catholic Charities, House of Tiny Treasures, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, and Star of Hope.

Last year, the Adopt-an-Angel program provided presents to 1,934 children.   From the looks of things, GKLG is hopeful that the program will reach more children this year than last!
